December 23rd to 30th, 2008 ISLA TORTUGA, CURU, BAHIA BALLINA, BAHIA HERRADURA (MARINA LOS SUENOS)

"Hey Dad can I have the kill switch cord (i.e. key) for the Dingy?" James test driving the Tinker at Islas Tortugas, Costa Rica.

Great snorkeling off Isla Alacatraz. Where is the prison?

Christmas morning aboard SV Passat II. The Dickinson "Antarctic" heater is useful as the Xmas tree. Note the Costa Rica winter "ropa" (clothing).

Boxing Day we visit the Curu Nature Preserve.

We stay two VERY expensive nights in the Marina Los Suenos (over $3 US per foot, based on dock length). We had the choice of a 40 ft or 60 ft dock. Guess which one we took. We anchored in the Bahia Herradura outside the marina for two nights. Very rolly with the sports fishing fleet going out at dawn and returning all day until dusk.
