April, 2015 - LONDON REVISITED - GREENWICH

We are joined by Joann and Terry for a 3 day whirlwind tour of London.  We stayed at the Travelodge near Greenwich, which has nothing to recommend itself other then price.

The highlight for me was the Greenwich Observatory.  We stood on the 0 Meridian and look in the museum on developing navigation at sea, including the history of an accurate clock for determining Longitude. One timepiece took 19 years to construct!

Greenwich is the home to the "Cutty Sark" clipper.  We had time to tore the ship or the pub of the same name.  Guess what we did?

Part of the massive Navel Academy.

Huge ship in a bottle.

West meets East.
East meets West.

This timepiece took 19 years to make!
