March, 2015 - COLCHESTER, WITH NORMAN CASTLE MUSEUM

Britain's oldest recorded town, Colchester, has the largest Norman Castle in Britain.  It has been wonderfully maintained/restored and is now a museum.  the gardens are worth a separate visit.  It was built on the site of the roman capital in Britain, Camulodunum.  The Roman's did not fortify the town until it was sacked by the Britain warrior Queen Boudica.  The castle was built shortly after the 1066 Norman victory.

The gardens.  Looks like a painting, but is a photo taken through a foggy lens.
