Octoer 23rd to 25th, 2007 SANTA BARBRA

A Pelican takes flight as we pass. New buoy???? We saw this yellow & red object coming out of the smoke and searched the charts for a buoy. It turned out to be a bunch of balloons.

Santa Barbara Harbour, with the obligatory restored fishing boat, this one still in the water.

Great Blue Heron and Snowy Egret. Bird of Paradise flowers. All part of a walk through town in search of the larger West Marine, that turned out to be in a very dirty industrial district.

The Court House, built in the late 1920s for $1.5 million. A must see in Santa Barbara! Take the free tour at 2 pm daily, given by dedicated volunteers.

The old Spanish fort. Very few original buildings remain. Restoration and rebuilding is underway and ongoing.
