July, 2016 - PUERTO DE FISTERRA, SPAIN

We sail around Cabo Finisterra to anchor at the entrance of Puerto de Fisterra.

In Roman times it was the end of the known world. The name Finisterre means end of the earth. It is locally said to be the westernmost point of continental Europe. Actually, Cabo de Roca in Portugal is  further west.

We walk along a portion of the El Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James)  pilgrimage trail, arriving at Km Zero at the lighthouse.

On the pilgrimage trail.

At the souvenir shop.

Km 0 at Cabo Finisterre.

The fog rolls in from the Atlantic, next landfall N. America.
