July/August, 2016 - RIA DE AVEIRO, PORTUGAL

No wind.  More motoring.  Ended up anchoring in Bai a de Sao Jacinto on the Ria de Aveiro.

The anchorage is reminiscent of the one in Placencia, Belize, a favorite of ours.

Another 5 day stay, including a day trip to the town of Aveiro (see next post).  We shared the anchorage with about 2 to 4 other cruising boats at a time, mostly form France.

The village of Sao Jacinto is a tourist destination and includes many reasaurants, a National Park, with a stunning beach and a major Scout Camp.

The entrance to the bay, with village behind.

Passat II in the anchorage.

The village waterfront.
An interesting front yard.

The scout camp gate.

National Park beach.

The dunes are protected, access only via the walkway.

The white sand beach goes to the horizon.
