July, 2016 - SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, SPAIN - DAY TRIP

We took the train from A Coruna to Santiago de Compostela for the day.  This is the site of the tomb of the Apostle James, the patron saint of Spain.  This was not my thing, but it was on Sandra's "bucket list", so off we went.

Great train ride through the mountains, fast and reasonably priced.  The train station in Santiago de Compostela is a fair ways from the old part of the city and the way to the cathedral is not well marked.  Spent some time wandering the city before getting to where we wanted to be.

Enjoyed a good lunch at an outdoor restaurant before taking in the cathedral and museum.

The cathedral is under restoration, so exterior photos were limited by scaffolding, etc.  however, both the cathedral and the museum were worth the effort.

Sandra stood in a long line to touch the tomb.
