September 28th - 29th OAKLAND YACHT CLUB & WAYPOINT COMPLETE CRUISING SOLUTIONS

The Oakland Yacht Club (OYC) earns five stars in our book. Friendly staff and members, great facilities, including morning coffee. Very good reasonably priced meals (Wed lunch, Fri & Sat dinners & Sunday brunch). Up to 7 days in reciprocal for distance cruisers. They can be reached at http://www.oaklandyachtclub.com/
One of the OYC members, Marilee Shaffer, owns Waypoint - Complete Cruising Solutions. They have a comprehensive selection of cruising guides, charts, etc. Her business partner Don Melcher specializes in on board navigation and SSB radio solutions. We found them very knowledgeable and helpful. We found all the cruising guides we were looking for and a very good chart package (combination paper & electronic) for the SF Bay / Delta area. They can be contacted online at: http://www.waypoints.com/

September 26th - 30th SAN FRANCISCO PICTURES

An evening air show near Golden Gate Bridge. WOW these guys / gals were great!

The San Francisco skyline night & day.

The SS Jeramiah O'Brian Liberty ship and the USS Pampanito Submarine, both restored by volunteers. The O'Brian is a fully operating ship, with the original triple expansion steam engine, that you can pay to crew. The sub tour was so good I forgot to take pictures inside!
