October 25th to 29th, 2008 - LA CRUZ & PUERTO VALLARTA

A Cruise Ship as seen by the camera at night. I am not sure which picture I like best, so include both for your viewing pleasure.

Beast on the boat! Underway at night I went to grip a hand rail and what I thought was a rabid bat flew out at me. It turned we had a giant "Stowaway" moth on board. He was evicted right after this picture.

We stop in PV to provision and connect with our very good friends Dave and Linda on SV "Starshine". We will both be heading for Costa Rica for Xmas and Panama in the New Year. We are pictured at Victor's Restaurant in Marina Vallarta. the food is good and every drink comes with a free shot of Tequila. Not a sober night.

October 19th to October 24th, 2008 MAZATLAN, SINGLAR MARINA

Passat II on the hard in Mazatlan. This was an "all work and all play" stop (The Mexicans working and yours truly and Sandra playing in the air conditioned cruiser's lounge and swimming pool).
We stoped to repaint the bottom and replace the exhaust elbow that developed a leak. We used separate paint for the rudders as the wind steering gear is partly aluminium and needs a special paint. The main rudder got the special paint as we were running short of the bottom paint for the hull.
The exhaust elbow was replaced at a very reasonable cost, but more on that later (foreshadowing...).
