February, 2014 - PASSAGE TO CUBA

We set out just ahead of what was expected to be a mild "Norther".  We had good south winds to start, a bit of excitement as the front passed, then perfect NW winds, clocking slowly to the N, then dieing.  A fast passage for us at just over 6 kts/hr.  Arrived almost a 1/2 day early and had to wait the night outside the entrance to Cayo Largo, entering at first light.

Friends Mike & Fern join us from Canada for this part of our journey.

Sandra is broken up over leaving Mexico.

Tthe trip starts out sunny and warm.

Lightning as the front approaches.

Lightning close up and personal.
